South Korean MLB player, Choo Shin-Soo (Indians outfielder) has been charged with drunken driving.

The team said Choo was arrested early Monday in Sheffield Lake, Ohio. Choo traveled with the Indians players and is with the team in Oakland, Calif., for the start of a six-game trip against the Athletics and Los Angeles Angels.

Choo is Cleveland‘s best all-around player. He batted .300 last season and was the only AL player to hit .300 with at least 20 homers and 20 steals. Choo, 28, entered Tuesday’s game batting .250 with four homers and 15 RBIs.

“I want to apologize to my family and my teammates,” Choo told reporters, “and to the fans and to the Indians organization. I regret that this happened.”

Choo has a court hearing scheduled for 5 p.m. ET on Thursday at the Sheffield Lake Mayor‘s Court.

According to MLB.com news, Indians manager Manny Acta said on Tuesday that he does not believe the arrests of Choo mean the ballclub needs to revisit its internal policies.
