Taylor Swift's star continues to skyrocket.
Red, the singer's fourth studio album, sold 1.2 million copies its first week out, the first time an artist has accomplished such a feat in 10 years.

This her second straight album to top 1 million in sales in its first week, but she's the only woman to have two separate albums perform that way since SoundScan started keeping track of such things in 1991.

"They just told me Red sold 1.2 million albums first week. How is this real life?! You are UNREAL. I love you so much. Thanks a million ;)" Swift tweeted today.

With her latest milestone behind her, Swift is now second only to Britney Spears in terms of the biggest album debut by a female artist. Brit's Oops!...I Did It Again moved 1.32 million units in one week in 2000 (back, coincidentally, when she was dating a certain 'N Sync star).

So, it certainly looks like there's going to be an audience for Swift's 58-date Red tour, which kicks off March 13 in Omaha, Neb. The first tickets go on sale Nov. 16.
