In a telephone message to South Korea, North Korea said the inter-Korean military communications will be cut off and North Korean members of the inter-Korean military communications liaison office will stop their activities, according to the North's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
The decision will remain unchanged as long as the South continues to conduct out-of-date, hostile activities toward the North, the message said.
The North sent the message to the South at 11:20 a.m., the KCNA said.
Earlier this month, the North unilaterally severed an inter-Korean Red Cross hotline.
