World's slimmest full HD LCD smartphone panel unveiled

LG Display said Thursday it has developed what it claims to be the world's slimmest full HD LCD panel for smartphones.

The 5.2-inch panel is only 2.2mm thin, said the company, a South Korean display giant.

The panel will be used in the production of Optimus G-2 smartphones to be unveiled on Aug. 7 in New York, the company said.
