Hyundai's HB20 hatchback ranks 6th in Brazil's subcompact market

Hyundai Motor's HB20 hatchback placed sixth in sales of subcompact passenger cars in Brazil in the first six months of this year.

According to the Fenabrave, an association of car dealers in Sao Paulo, southern Brazil, Monday, Hyundai sold 61,800 HB20 hatchbacks in the January-June period.

Volkswagen‘s Gol topped the list with 121,300 units sold, followed by Fiat’s Uno and Palio with 96,500 and 90,700 units, respectively.

Volkswagen’s Fox ranked fourth with 67,100 units, while Fiat‘s Strada came in fifth with 62,000.

The comparable figure stood at 58,200 for General Motor’s Onix, 55,900 for Fiat’s Siena, 54,600 for Ford’s Fiesta and 48,900 for Volkswagen’s Voyage.

Hyundai built facilities to produce the HB20 hatchback in the South American country last November.
