The figure compares with a tested fuel economy of 11.9 kilometers for the outgoing Sonata model.
The new Sonata, mated with a 2.0 engine and six-speed automatic transmission, will be released in the South Korean market on March 24, and it will reach overseas customers during the second half of this year, the automaker said.
The mileage for the sedan, rated by the government, was slightly lower than an average of 12.6 kilometers reported by the carmaker earlier this month.
