South Korean budget carrier Jeju Air said Tuesday that it will launch irregular flights to seven Chinese destinations in April.

They are from Incheon to Qiqihar, Wenzhou and Quanzhou; from Jeju Island to Guangzhou, Xian and Chengdu; and from Busan to Zhengzhou.

The airline company said it plans to steadily expand flights to China under the guidelines set by China’s aviation authorities.

A company official said China has strengthened regulations on flights to its cities by foreign airline companies since the second half of last year. “But we are making multi-faceted efforts to attract Chinese tourists,” he said.

Last year, about 140,000 passengers flew on planes operated by Jeju Air to 10 destinations in China.
