Volkswagen Tiguan best-selling imported model in Jan.-July period

Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TDI Blue Motion emerged as the best-selling imported model in the first seven months of this year in South Korea, with 4,581 units sold, data showed on Tuesday.

BMW520d lost its crown as the best-selling foreign car model in the local market for the first time in two years, with sales of 4,413 units, according to the data compiled by the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA).

Cumulative sales of foreign-brand automobiles totaled 112,375 units in the January-July period, up 25.6 percent from 89,440 vehicles tallied during the corresponding period of last year, the KAIDA said.
