The number of her followers on Weibo, China's equivalent of Twitter, is increasing by more than 4,000 per week, the agency, C-Jes Entertainment, said.
"The number of her followers on Weibo was estimated at 53,000 as of Oct. 13, but it is noteworthy that the figure is rising at a fast pace," it said.
A romantic comedy, the television series topped the list of South Korean and Japanese dramas on Weibo, after its eighth episode was aired Oct. 8.
The 30-year-old Hwang debuted as a lead vocalist of the K-pop girl group Sugar in 2001, and officially made her acting debut in 2007.
