Goalkeeper Kim Byung-ji of Chunnam Dragons has become the oldest to play on the field in South Korea's K-League.

Kim played at 44 years, seven months and 14 days old as a starter for a Group B football match between Chunnam Dragons and Sangju Sangmu in the K-League Classic on Nov. 22, the Korea Professional Football League said on Monday. Dragons won 3-1.

The previous record was set on Aug. 21, 2004 when FC Seoul's goalie Shin Eui-son, a former Russian-Tajikistan-South Korean footballer, played in a football match against Pohang Steelers at 44 years, seven months and nine days. He became a naturalized Korean in 2000.
