Girls' Generation member Taeyeon makes grand solo comeback with 'Spark'

SEOUL -- Taeyeon, a Girls' Generation member, made a grand solo comeback with her new full-album "Purpose". The 30-year-old has scored an all-kill on South Korean song charts with "Spark", the title song of her new album.

It was Taeyeon's second album this year. She released "Four Seasons", a digital single album, in March and its title song gained positive feedback from K-pop fans across the globe. Taeyeon also released "VOICE", a Japanese single album, in May this year.

According to major online music services on Tuesday, Spark topped real-time song charts of Melon, Genie, Bugs and Soribada soon after it was released on Monday.

The new album which contains 12 songs, topped iTunes' album charts in 16 countries including Singapore, Malaysia and Mexico. The music video for Spark garnered more than 1.5 million views on YouTube in less than 15 hours of release.

Some 17,500 fans left supporting comments to welcome Taeyeon's new song on YouTube. "Your “spark” made my life spark again," said "Waritt", a YouTube user. Another user "Abdullah Firman" said: "The Queen of genres music is Taeyeon."

Taeyeon, who debuted in 2007, has actively pursued her career as a solo artist. She has released 12 single, mini and full albums.
