SEOUL -- Eone Diagnomics Genome Center, an international joint venture which develops technology for genome analysis, tied up with a cloud-based genomics healthcare web portal to develop a community platform based on genomic data that would allow users to share solutions through communication on the results of genetic analysis.
Eone Diagnomics Genome Center (EDGC) and Mygenomebox (MGB) would establish a genetic network service (GNS) and secure competitiveness in the genomic market. "EDGC's goal is to create a new business model and an industrial ecosystem, based on genome," said EDGC co-CEO Lee Min-seob.
Like a social networking service (SNS), users can share solutions through communication on the results of genetic analysis in the DNA app market. Especially, non-members can participate and communicate detailed interpretations of genetic analysis in real time.
The two companies hope that a new relationship-building channel would emerge by establishing DNA-based GNS that evolves from app market business models such as hobby, interest and love, which are the latest trend of SNS. Mygenomebox is a leader in the genome-based DNA platform business.
EDGC said that eased government regulations have left open the possibility of a health care platform linked to disease prevention, customized treatment and digital healthcare devices, based on personal genetic information.
