SEOUL -- Samsung SDS, the digital solution wing of Samsung conglomerate, showcased the company's one-stop smart logistics solution called "Cello Square" which small and large-sized traders can use to simplify the import and export process.
Cello Square was first introduced in the domestic market in 2021 to simplify the head-aching process of exporting and importing goods. The smart solution helps individual business operators and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) when they make price estimates, reserve for freight cargo ships, create paperwork for customs, tack cargo, communicate with clients, and calculate freight charges.
The Asia-Pacific office of Samsung SDS held the "Cello Square 2023 Conference" in Hanoi on March 3 and showcased the smart logistics platform. Kim Dong-kyun, the head of Samsung SDS' Asia-Pacific office, emphasized the geological and social importance of Viet Nam by saying "Vietnam's presence as the world's production hub is becoming stronger, backed by the country's geological advantage of being located close to China."
By using Cello Square, only one or two employees could cover all the work that was covered by at least a handful of workers. "Cello Square will become an effective tool for Vietnamese companies, especially logistics companies, by increasing productivity and reducing risk factors," Kim said, adding that Viet Nam is at an important stage where the country is accelerating the development of its land and sea logistics industry.
After making its debut in South Korea, Cello Square was launched in China in 2022. Samsung SDS currently has 53 logistics centers and more than 1,900 clients in 36 countries worldwide. The company is the world's tenth-largest logistics company with an annual aerial cargo capacity of 410,000 tons and sea cargo capacity of 1.01 million tons.
