LG Display Appeals Against EU Penalty for Price Fixing

LG Display Co., the world‘s second-largest maker of liquid-crystal displays, appealed against the European Union’s decision to fine the company for fixing price.

According to the report from Bloomberg new, LG filed an appeal on Feb 23., asking for a reduced the penalty.

The company was fined 215 million euros ($297 million) in December, along with Chi Mei Optoelectronic Corp. and four other display makers, the European Commission said in December.

The company‘s statement went into red last January after it reflected the penalty in its quarterly earnings statement, which was first loss in almost two years.
