According to the Beijing Youth Daily on Sunday, Fu Zhenghua of the Beijing Public Security Bureau made the announcement in remarks to immigration officials that Koreans who travel via Beijing to other destinations will soon be able to enjoy a visa-free stay for up to three days in the Chinese capital.

However, the eligibility under what conditions is not yet known.

Currently, transit passengers through Beijing must have a visa even if they stay in the airport for over 24 hours.

Tokyo has a three-day visa-free period for transit visitors, Singapore 4 days, and Hong Kong 7.
