Ashley, Seoul-based E-Land’s family restaurant chain, opened its first two stores in Shanghai on Dec. 12, with the aim of making Ashley a worldwide family restaurant chain.

Ashley No. 1 and No. 2, with a combined floor space of 1,530 square meters and 1,200 square meters, are located in Jinqiao, a key commercial district, and Yaohan Department Store, respectively.

The lunch buffet (from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) runs at a very reasonable price of 128 yuan. The dinner (until 10:30 p.m.) and weekend (11 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.) buffets are priced at 188 yuan. Kids under 120cm can get a reduction of 60 yuan per head.

E-Land plans to open 20 stores in China known for “eating-out culture,” a company official in Seoul said.

“We will develop our ‘luxurious’ brand strategy just as we did in the fashion industry. We aim to make Ashley a premium brand,” the official said.
