Eight members of Congress, including Rep. Joe Barton of Texas, sent a letter to Google CEO Larry Page on Thursday demanding an answer of privacy concern regarding Google Glass.

Google GLΛSS is a head mounted wearable computer that looks like a pair of glasses. The device works like a smartphone but everything is controlled by voice commands.

Google GLΛSS already has Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Elle magazine apps released exclusively for the device. Though Facebook app will only be restricted to sharing photos taken with the device, Twitter and other apps will work similar to the smartphone apps.

Because such a voice command only device is new in the market, Congress members felt that there won’t be sufficient amount of security provided to guard the personal information stored in Google GLΛSS.

It is unknown if the Google GLΛSS uses facial recognition technology to release the personal information and data.
