LG Electronics will launch a new tablet computer, named "G Pad," at IFA 2013 scheduled to be held from Sept. 6 to 11 in Berlin, industry sources said Monday. It is first time that LG will release a new tablet PC in one year and eight months. IFA is Europe's largest trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances.

G Pad will have an 8.3 inch and 1920x1200 display produced by LG, the sources said. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip and 2GB of RAM are also expected to be fitted in the device.

LG plans to start selling the newest tablet computer in the fourth quarter of this year and is expecting to sell 100,000 units per month, they said.

Another South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics plans to double its global tablet computer sales to more than 32 million units this year, and Apple sold 14.1 million tablet PCs in the second quarter.
