In the film, Jeon took a role as an ordinary housewife Jung-yeon who was locked up behind bars in Martinique prison, France after getting arrested at Orly Airport for falsely accused as a drug smuggler. This story was based on real hap that happened in 2004. It took her over 2 years to be released of all charges and from the prison.
As the actress has been awarded the ‘Best Actress Award (Prix d'interprétation féminine)’ at Cannes, the distinguished film critiques are eagerly anticipating how the actress will depict the ordinary housewife’s psyche in the movie.
‘On the Way Home’ will release in theatres this December.
