US to raise minimum wage for federal contractors to $10.10 an hour

The U.S. Labor Department said Wednesday (local time) it will raise the minimum wage for federal contract workers to $10.10 an hour starting Jan. 1, 2015.

President Barack Obama signed an executive order to raise the minimum wage for federal contractors during a ceremony at the White House on Wednesday (local time).
