"Snowpiercer," a South Korean post-apocalyptic sci-fi film directed by Bong Joon-ho, will be released at theaters across China on March 21, according to Chinese media Friday.

Director Bong recently visited Beijing and held a showcase for the film, based on the French graphic novel “Le Transperceneige.”

The movie stars actor Song Kang-ho and actress Ko Ah-sung, both of South Korea; and Hollywood stars Chris Evans, Ed Harris and Octavia Spencer; and Jamie Bell and Tilda Swinton, both British.

The action thriller, Bong's English-language debut film, was exported to more than 160 countries before its release at South Korean theaters on Aug. 1 last year.
