Olympic short track gold medalist Park Seung-hi converts to speed skating

South Korean Olympic short track gold medalist Park Seung-hi will convert to speed skating, her agency in Seoul said. She returned home Thursday, after ending one-month-long speed skating training in Calgary, Canada.

After the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, last February, 22-year-old Park skipped the national short track team trials for the new season and began speed skating training, according to the agency, Brion Company.

Park won three medals in short track in the 2014 Sochi Olympics - gold medals in the 1,000-ｍeter relay and 3,000-meter relay, and the bronze in the 500 meters. In the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games, Park won two bronze medals.
