Documentary 'My Love" tops South Korea's box office

"My Love, Don't Cross That River," a South Korean documentary about a 98-year-old husband and his 89-year-old wife, topped the South Korean box office on Thursday, edging out Hollywood films, the country's official box-office tracker said Friday.

The documentary describing the lives of the couple, who has been married 76 years, attracted 65,631 viewers on Thursday (accumulated ticket sales 420,120), according to the Korea Film Council (KOFIC). 

Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar," a Hollywood science-fiction epic which has made a success in the local box office by drawing more than 9 million moviegoers, fell to third place with ticket sales reaching 50,173.

Ridley Scott's "Exodus: Gods and Kings," a biblical adaptation based on the book of "Exodus," moved down one notch to second place with 60,350 viewers (accumulated ticket sales 773,774 as of Dec. 7).
