K-pop boy band Big Bang and girl group 2NE1 were among 50 winners of this year's YouTube Music Awards, their management agency, YG Entertainment, in Seoul said Tuesday.

Big Bang plans to release a new album, their first album in three years, soon, while 2NE1 member CL is making preparations to make her U.S. debut, media reports said.

Other recipients of the YouTube Music Awards 2015 included Sam Smith, Beyonce, Ariana Grande, Big Sean, Lady Gaga, Drake, Ed Sheeran and Snoop Dogg.

British singer Smith won two of this year's top Grammy Awards for his single "Stay With Me." He was also named best new artist and captured the best pop vocal award for his debut album.

"These are the artists with the biggest growth in views, subscribers and engagement over the last six months," the global video-sharing site said.

In 2013, Girls' Generation was selected as one of the winners of the YouTube awards for "I Got A Boy."
