South Korean actor Kang Dong-won, who recently appeared in a film “The Priests” have joined an entertainment agency “YG Entertainment”, the agency announced on Monday.
Kang was the hot topic last week as he became an FA following his end of the contract with his former agency. Rumors were that Kang and Yang Hyun-suk, CEO of YG Entertainment had a series of meetings regarding his contract, but YG official said “Nothing is clear at the moment.”
But having serious talks with the CEO, Kang finally decided to join the YG Entertainment. According to the YG officials, the agency will form a specialized task force team only fit for the actor and support him on his works and international activities.
“I’ve always thought Mr. Yang as the unique creative director,” said Kang, “I believe in his foresight and global network which is centered in Asian countries.”
The main reason for Kang to choose YG as the new family is the agency’s ability to go global. With its world famous stars such as Big Bang, 2NE1, and Psy, the agency has great experiences on how to make a star go global.
