Mamamoo, South Korean girl-group, got ranked second place in China’s QQ Music K-POP MV Chart with the group’s new song “You’re the Best”. Also, the song’s popularity is rising in other Chinese music charts such as YinYueTai.
The four-member girl group’s popularity in China comes as unexpected pleasure as Mamamoo did not run any international promotions yet. The girls released their first studio album “Melting” last Friday, and You’re the Best is the title song of the album. The title song topped on nation’s music charts Naver Music, Mnet, Bugs, Soribada, Monkey3, Genie and Olleh Music.
Meanwhile, the girl group is to hold a fan meeting to celebrate their first studio album “Melting” on Friday. A hundred fans selected from people who bought the girls’ album from the Yung Poong Mungo at Yeoido’s IFC Mall, will be invited to the special fan meeting.
Mamamoo made the debut on June, 2014. All of its members excel at rap, dance, and also are famous for their lively characters. Unlike other girl-groups, Mamamoo did not draw much attention from the public upon their debut, but after making many appearances in local show programs, the group started to gain popularity.
The group is well known for their enthusiasm in creating their own music. All of the members took part in directing, composing, writing lyrics, and setting up choreography of their songs and albums. Mamamoo was chosen by the Billboard as one of five K-POP artists to look out for in 2015.
