Hani, a member of girl group 'EXID", is one of the favorite female stars on TV shows. But recently, the singer is under fire from the viewers for crying too much on TV shows.
The latest moment Hani cried was during the broadcasting of "Baek Jong-won's Three Kings" on Saturday. She ate a famous croquette from Gangneung, a coastal city located on the East Coast of Korea, then bursted into tears saying the croquette tasted just like the ones she had when her family was going through hard times in the past.
Hani's cry was not expected by nor the MCs or the audiences. The filming studio set fell briefly into an awkward silence. Previous incidents when Hani cried during TV shows were under understandable situations, but the incident during the Three Kings' airing brought negative feedback from the viewers.
A user of the online community "Pann" posted a debate following the airing, claiming that Hani is crying too many times on TV shows. Some community users agreed with the post, and others debated that the singer gets easily sympathetic towards others or a story introduced on the show, which she cannot help but to cry.
Clearly, the singer bursting up in tears had been frequently broadcasted over in multiple TV shows and programs since last year and had received negative feedbacks from the crowd, but the viewers are still debating over whether it is right for Hani to lose control of her emotions too frequently, and the broadcasters airing what could be considered as a broadcasting disaster to gain popularity with controversy.
