BIGBANG's Daesung to release new album in Japan

BIGBANG member Daesung will release a new mini-album "D-DAY" in Japan on April 12. That will be his first album to be released in Japan in two and a half years.

"The album's title 'D-DAY' contains a commemorative meaning," the 27-year-old, also known as D-LITE in Japan, said in a statement Wednesday. "I wanted to commemorate the album's release date as the moment when I finally get to meet my fans again."

According to BIGBANG's agency, YG Entertainment, famous Japanese artists such as Mizuno Yoshiki and Hata Motohiro co-worked on the album.

Ater the mini-album was released, Daesung will hold a solo concert tour in Japan starting on April 15. "This is the first time for me to hold concerts in dome stadiums," he said, adding he was very excited to meet Japanese fans.

The singer debuted solo in Japan in 2013 with an album "'D'scover". He has since has become the most successful South Korean idol group member active in Japan as a solo artist, rising to the top of the Oricon Charts, Japan's most prioritized music ranking service.
