Larva, a popular computer-animated TV series produced in South Korea, will be shown to audiences in Brazil and other Latin American countries from December 1 through Disney XD, an American digital cable and satellite television channel.
The slapstick cartoon series showing two larvae -- Yellow as Red -- was launched by TUBAn Co., based in Seoul, in 2011. After debuting on South Korea's main state channel, KBS, the series quickly became popular and have been sold to many countries.
TUBAn said it has signed a deal allowing Walt Disney to air the series at the end of every program on the Disney XD Channel in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia and Caribbean islands. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The deal will help the animation company step up the marketing of related merchandise including toys, dolls and stationery products in Latin American countries.
