Digital transformation (DX) is the adoption of digital technology to traditional services or businesses by optimizing the work process. For example, telephone customer service operators are gradually being replaced by AI-based chatbots that answer simple customer inquiries through websites and mobile apps to reduce the time customers have to wait to speak to an operator.
"The DX platform was created using the know-how of KT's already commercialized businesses so that our customers can utilize it through cloud computing," said KT's cloud and DX business head Yoon Dong-sik.
Firms and organizations that use KT's DX platform will be able to save up to 50 percent of the time taken in the development process and up to 70 percent in costs. Customers can interlink their service or system with KT's services including 5G mobile data communication and cloud server support.
The DX platform came a week after KT launched Cloud One Team with private experts, state researchers and scholars to strengthen the competitiveness of South Korea's cloud ecosystem.
