SEOUL -- At a trade show to be held in early January in Las Vegas, Hyundai Mobis will unveil two concept cars that incorporate future mobility technologies and feature a 360-degree rotation in place, crab driving, and parallel parking with four wheels bent at 90 degrees. They communicate with pedestrians and surroundings with communication lamps installed in the front of the grill.
The car parts maker of Hyundai auto group will show two concept cars, M.Vision POP and M.Vision 2GO, at its CES 2022 booth and through a metaverse world. When visitors enter the exhibition hall, a kiosk recognizes their faces to create a character. "We planned a CES exhibition that combines the recent metaverse trend with our technology," Hyundai Mobis' communication division head Park Jin-ho said in a statement on December 8.

In October 2021, Hyundai Mobis showcased an integrated all-in-one electric vehicle wheel system that enables cars to move sideways like a crab to evade obstacles or move out of a tight spot. Each wheel connected to a motor can turn up to 90 degrees to move the car sideways or perform a stationary 360-degree turn.

The company has introduced light-emitting diode (LED) lighting that can utilize the entire grill as a lighting device to communicate with other vehicles or create unique design effects. The grill can be used as a means of communicating with other vehicles or pedestrians and create unique design effects using lighting patterns.

Hyundai Mobis has said that the wider use of electric vehicles would bring up design changes, with the grille taking different forms for lighting, sound systems and displays.
