SEOUL -- Naver VIBE, an artificial intelligence-based music streaming service developed by South Korea's internet service giant, has introduced a new service to provide the natural and high-quality translation of foreign song lyrics that fit the rhyme with the help of professional translators. Users can check original lyrics and Korean translations at a glance.

Since translated lyrics are supported in real-time according to the flow of songs, users can immediately check original texts and their meaning without using other platforms and clearly understand the message intended by composers. VIBE will secure a database of high-quality translation lyrics that overseas music platforms have not tried.

VIBE curates music and recommends songs based on what users listen and on the sound of the music rather than what's popular on charts. It has adopted a proportional payment model to the streaming volume of music, with users paying for songs they listen to.

"This service reflects users' steady needs for the translation of pop song lyrics. By continuously establishing a database on the high-quality translation of lyrics, we will establish ourselves as the largest music platform in South Korea and provide high-satisfaction services," Lee Jin-baek, in charge of VIBE's music content planning, said in a statement on August 19.

Through a contract with an overseas agency, VIVE provides legitimate services by securing the right to use pop song lyrics and write secondary works. It is now equipped with translated lyrics of about 20,000 songs and adds about 2,000 songs every month. VIVE has strengthened technical cooperation with Gaudio Lab, an audio tech startup known for an AI solution that can shorten synchronization time and increase the accuracy of synchronization.
