SEOUL, May 13 (AJU PRESS) - CJ CheilJedang has introduced the beloved Korean dish gimbap to Woolworths Supermarkets in Australia, the leading Korean food company said.

This marks the first time Korean seaweed rice rolls have been available in major Australian retail outlets.

CJ CheilJedang released tuna mayo gimbap and bulgogi (Korean-style BBQ beef) gimbap at over 1,000 stores of Woolworths, the largest supermarket chain in Australia.

Both were highly successful in Japan. The bulgogi variant has been adapted to Australian consumer preferences, using plant-based ingredients instead of meat.

"We are excited to introduce the globally beloved Korean dish to Australian consumers," the company said in a statement. "We will commit to introducing Korean food to the world, reflecting local preferences at the same time."

Last year, CJ CheilJedang rolled out six dumpling products via Woolworths stores.
