LAS VEGAS -- South Korea's trade and investment promotion agency will set up a large-sized booth at the Consumer Electronics Show, the world's largest annual consumer electronics exhibition held in Las Vegas, to help some 480 South Korean organizations and companies promote their products and services to global investors and clients.

KOTRA, or the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, is a South Korean government agency responsible for promoting international trade and investment. Established in 1962, KOTRA operates under the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy. Its primary objectives include supporting South Korean businesses in expanding their global presence, attracting foreign investment to South Korea, and facilitating trade relationships.

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is a popular event for South Korean tech companies, related government-operated organizations, and administrative bodies that wish to showcase their products and services. In CES 2024, scheduled to be held in Las Vegas from January 9 to January 12 (local time), a total of 4,314 companies will participate. Among those companies, 789 will be from South Korea, accounting for up to 18.3 percent.

KOTRA said that the government agency's CES booth will represent 32 South Korean organizations including institutes, administrative bodies, and local governments, and 443 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The number has increased by more than twofold compared to 2023. The agency said that participating SMEs will use the integrated promotional booth as a window to foreign markets.
