Consumer sentiment for June hits 13-month high

The country's consumer sentiment index (CSI) stood at 105 for June, the highest level in 13 months, amid hopes that the government‘s fiscal stimulus and the central bank’s latest rate cut will help the economy pick up.

The figure represents a rise of one point from 104 tallied for the previous month.

The CSI is a comprehensive gauge for consumers’ sentiment about the economy. When the CSI is over 100, it means that the number of households that see the economy positively is more than those who see it negatively. When it is below 100, it is the opposite.
