It was announced Thursday that actor Ben Affleck (41) will be Batman in upcoming ‘Man of Steel’ Superman sequel that will be released in 2015. The release date is set to be on July 17, 2015. The new sequel will be the mash up of Superman and Batman stories and the production will begin next year. Actor Henry Cavill (31) is set to play Superman in the new sequel.
The director will be once again Zack Snyder who won Best Picture in Oscar with Argo this year. On choosing Ben Affleck as Batman, Snyder told PEOPLE magazine, "Ben provides an interesting counterbalance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne."
