A blustery storm, dubbed “Alexa,” has brought heavy snowfall to parts of the Middle East, according to reports Sunday (local time).

The snowfall reached 45-60cm in Jerusalem, the heaviest in 70 years, meteorologists said.

In Israel, four people were killed and damage to property reached US$85 million (approximately 90 billion won), the reports said.

In addition, about 30,000 households, including 9,000 households in Jerusalem, remained without electricity after the three-day snowstorm.

Besides, an expressway leading to downtown Jerusalem was closed and public transportation was disrupted.

Snowstorm and rain also flooded parts of Egypt, reports stated.
