Parts of South Korea experience sub-zero temperatures

Temperatures plummeted Tuesday morning across the country, with parts of Gangwon Province and northern Gyeonggi Province experiencing sub-zero temperatures, the meteorological office said. The mercury dipped to minus 4 degrees in Daegwallryeong and minus 2.4 in Cheorwon, both in mountainous Gangwon Province; and minus 2.6 in Paju, northern Gyeonggi Province, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). In Seoul, the capital, the morning low reached 2.7 degrees Celsius, its lowest level reported this winter, the KMA said.
