Ryeowook of South Korea's boy band Super Junior will go to an army training camp in June to begin two years of mandatory military service, his agency, SM Entertainment,  said Thursday.

The 29-year-old will join the army on June 14.  After completing a five wee-week basic training program, he will be sent to an unidentified military camp for his 21-month service.

Ryeowook has held six rounds of solo concerts since he released his solo album with its title track "The Little Prince" in January.

All able-bodied South Korean men aged 18-35 are required to serve in the military for about two years because the Korean peninsula is still technically at war as the 1950-53 Korean War ended in an armistice with no peace treaty signed between the two Koreas.
