SEOUL -- "The Villainess", a 2017 South Korean action film directed by Jung Byung-gil, will be reborn as an American TV series through a partnership with Skybound, an American entertainment company behind its long-running comic, "The Walking Dead".
Next Entertainment World (NEW), the film's distributor, said that The Villainess is the first South Korean movie to be produced as an American TV series. The original film tells a story about a girl who embarks on a rampage of violence and revenge after being honed from childhood to be an elite assassin to earn her freedom and escape her past.
Jung will participate in the production of the TV series, which will show a thrilling series on a woman who was raised as a murder weapon in a secret organization based in Los Angeles.
