SEOUL -- At a global cosmetics conference held in Monaco, CGBIO, a total healthcare provider in South Korea, has sealed an order worth 16.5 billion won ($12.6 million) through its calcium filler which is often used as an anti-aging product. The filler product called "Calcium Hydroxyapatite filler Facetem" would be supplied to Argentina and France for three years.

Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHA) filler Facetem, effective in improving skin elasticity, is used for various cosmetic purposes such as hiding smile lines. Unlike regular fillers, it does not cause inflammation as they do not interact with skin tissue. As of June 2022, the anti-aging item was exported to a total of eight countries including Russia and Spain.

CGBIO said in a statement the company signed a 12 billion won supply deal for CaHA filler Facetem to Argentina and a 4.5 billion won contract to France. The contract was signed at the "Aesthetic and anti-aging Medicine World Congress (AMWC) 2023" held in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Starting with the two contracts, the South Korean company aims to secure its foothold in the European facial aesthetics market.

"We will further enhance our global business activities as we are trying to target overseas markets, such as an export contract for Giselleligne to China, which is a signal for full-fledged entry into foreign markets," CGBIO CEO Yoo Hyun-seung said in a statement on April 4. The South Korean healthcare provider grabbed a 470 billion won worth supply deal to provide the filler product Giselleligne to a Shanghai-based medical device distribution firm in March 2023.

Companies from some 120 countries participated in this year's AMWC to showcase anti-aging-related products and technologies. CGBIO said about 10,000 people visit the global event every year.
