SEOUL -- K-pop girl band BLACKPINK has attracted about 55,000 fans through its encore concert in Paris. The concert took place at Stade De France, a stadium mainly used for national athletic events such as soccer and rugby games.

The four-member band has performed various hit songs such as Pink Venom, How You Like That, and Pretty Savage at the stadium on July 15, YG Entertainment said. The stadium with a capacity of some 80,000 seats was built to host the 1998 FIFA World Cup. The encore event was held as an extension of the group's two-day Paris concert held in December 2022. About 30,000 fans attended the concert at the Accor Arena with a total capacity of some 20,000 seats.

BLACKPINK members have been tied up with its world after the release of Born Pink, the second studio album in September 2022. The band's agency revealed its plan to visit more than 20 countries through the world tour including the United States, Canada, and Germany. The group is set to showcase its talents in different regions in the United States such as New Jersey and San Francisco in August 2023.

While BTS is considered the leading K-pop boy band, the girl group led the K-pop fandom as an iconic girl band. BLACKPINK became the first K-pop band to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2019.
