SEOUL -- The operator of the popular Blizzard shooting game "Overwatch 2" has collaborated with Le Sserafim, a girl band formed by BTS agency Hybe's music label Source Music, to create an English song "Perfect Night." The five-member band became the first musical artists to work with the global video game publisher for in-game content.

Overwatch 2, rolled out in October 2022, is the sequel to Overwatch, the first-person shooter (FPS) multiplayer game released by Blizzard Entertainment. The number of Overwatch 2 players surpassed 25 million only 10 days after its release.

Blizzard Entertainment said the music video for Perfect Night will be released at 1 p.m. (0400 GMT) on October 27. Without disclosing details, the video game developer said it will showcase new game items inspired by the girl band. On November 5, group members will present performances including their new single at the American company's annual gaming convention "BlizzCon."

"We're extremely excited to be working with Le Sserafim for our game's first musical artist collaboration," Overwatch general manager Walter Kong said in a statement. "Like the heroes of Overwatch, the Le Sserafim members are amazing as individuals, but unstoppable when they come together."

Le Sserafim is a multinational group with two South Koreans, two Japanese, and one American. Its debut song "Fearless" entered the Billboard chart eight days after its release. As of June 28, the dance song's music video exceeded 169 million views. The group has worked as a five-member group since May 2022 when member Kim Ga-ram was embroiled in her alleged school bullying.
