SEOUL -- K-pop girl band NewJeans will drop its very first remix album containing 12 songs. The album is to be released at 6:00 p.m. (0900 GMT) on December 19, the first anniversary of the release of Ditto. Ditto is the five-member's 2022 global hit song that garnered more than 400 million streams on Spotify, the world's top music streaming service.

NewJeans, which debuted in July 2022, is the brainchild of Min Hee-jin, the prodigy producer who successfully incubated iconic K-pop bands such as Girls' Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO, Red Velvet, and NCT. Min started her career as a producer at SM Entertainment, one of South Korea's top entertainment agencies, and established ADOR, an independent label under HYBE, BTS' agency. Min is also the chief brand officer of Hybe.

The BTS' sister band became the super rookie in the K-pop scene soon after its debut with songs that have dance-pop roots with a dash of South Korean folk music genre called "Bbongjjack," a synthesizer and electronic-based dance music favored by middle-aged women. 250, a producer also known by his name Lee Oh-gong, composed NewJeans' global hit songs such as Attention, Hype Boy, and Ditto.

ADOR said that the remix album, to be released on December 19, contains the band's desire to spend this winter with fans and NewJeans hopes the remix album becomes a special gift for the fans.
