SEOUL, April 11 (AJU PRESS) - Samsung Electronics will add three new languages -- Arabic, Indonesian, and Russian -- to its artificial intelligence-based translation service featured in the company's latest "Galaxy S24" smartphone lineup.

The South Korean tech giant released its S24 flagship smartphone lineup in January 2024 and rolled out a new AI-based feature called "Galaxy AI" which supported real-time translation services for 13 languages including English, Chinese, Japanese, and French. The translation service helps users understand different languages through text messages or during a phone call.

Samsung said that a software update is coming for the company's latest flagship smartphone by the end of April. The new update will contain three new language support packs for Arabic, Indonesian, and Russian, along with additional support for derivatives such as Australian English, Hong Kong Chinese, and Canadian French.

As part of the company's plan to boost its AI service capabilities, Samsung will add more language packs for Swedish, Dutch, Romanian, and Turkish. "We will accelerate the popularization of Galaxy's AI-based experience through the expansion of language support," Samsung's mobile device division President Roh Tae-moon said in a statement on Thursday.
