SEOUL, June 5 (AJU PRESS) - G-Dragon of boy band Big Bang has joined the Korea Institute of Science and Technology as a visiting professor, the tech-heavy school said Wednesday. He will offer lectures for graduate and undergraduate students in Department of Mechanical Engineering during his two-year tenure until June 2026.

Known for his flamboyant style and interest in fashion, the singer is expected to bridge cutting-edge technology with pop culture, sharing his experiences as a K-pop icon and global star to inspire one of Korea's best students in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

"It is an honor to become a visiting professor at KAIST, which is the birthplace of numerous scientific geniuses," G-Dragon said. "I hope that combining KAIST's excellence in science and technology with my expertise in the field of entertainment will create great synergy."

"We believe Kwon will be a great asset for us and we will be able to contribute to the growth of Korean culture further," KAIST President Lee Kwang-hyung said.

G-Dragon, one of the most successful artists in Korea, has shown his keen interest in technology and garnered attention in January when he made an appearance at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, one of the biggest trade show where tech companies boast their new products and technology in Las Vegas.
