The 101-minute film will have its world premiere in the "Special Presentations" section of the 51st edition of TIFF, which will run from Sept. 10-20.
It will mark Yeon's second consecutive appearance at TIFF after his mystery thriller "The Ugly" was screened at the prestigious festival last year.
"Paradise Lost" revolves around a woman who uses an artificial intelligence (AI) program to recreate memories of her missing son, only to have her life thrown into turmoil when he suddenly returns.
Yeon described the film as one of his "darkest" works, exploring a mother's struggle between the AI-created version of her son and the real son who returns after nine years.
TIFF's Special Presentations section showcases acclaimed contemporary films from around the world and has previously featured several South Korean films such as "Mother" and "Parasite" by Bong Joon-ho, as well as "The Handmaiden" and "Decision to Leave" by Park Chan-wook.
"Paradise Lost" is scheduled to hit theaters in South Korea sometime in October.
