Megabox has announced its October lineup for the exclusive screening brand 'Mega Only.' The schedule features a variety of genres, including youth dramas, documentaries, animations, nostalgic martial arts comedies, and live performances from the National Theatre of Great Britain, promising a rich cinematic experience this fall.
Kicking off on October 8, the live-action adaptation of the manga 'Look Back' will be released. Based on the work by popular manga artist Tatsuki Fujimoto, known for 'Chainsaw Man,' this film marks the directorial debut of acclaimed filmmaker Hirokazu Kore-eda in the youth drama genre. It tells the poignant story of two girls who become each other's worlds while capturing unforgettable seasons together, all portrayed with Kore-eda's signature warm film camera aesthetic. The film features actors who closely resemble the animated characters, adding to its appeal.
On October 16, the documentary 'Shall We Run' will hit theaters, chronicling singer Sean's marathon challenges. The film follows Sean as he participates in seven major marathons worldwide, including those in Tokyo, Boston, London, Sydney, Berlin, Chicago, and New York. Actor Park Bo-gum, a close friend of Sean, provides narration, generating buzz even before its release.
The animated film 'Ciao,' which won the Jury Award at the 2025 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, will premiere on October 21. Set in a future city where humans and mermaids coexist, it follows an ordinary office worker named Stephan who unexpectedly receives a marriage proposal from Ciao, the princess of the mermaid kingdom, symbolizing the union of their two species. The film's fresh world-building and unique animation style are expected to captivate audiences.
On October 28, Stephen Chow's classic 'Kung Fu Hustle' will return to the big screen after 21 years. Set in a time when fists prevailed over the law, this comedic action film follows the timid gangster Sing as he struggles to join the Axe Gang, which has taken over the city. Regarded as one of Chow's best works, this beloved classic offers fans a chance to experience it in theaters once again.
Additionally, Megabox's curation brand 'Classic Society' will present two live performances from the National Theatre of Great Britain in collaboration with performance content specialist Wizonson. Starting October 7, 'Inter Alia,' featuring Rosamund Pike as a criminal court judge, will be screened. This highly anticipated production reunites writer Suzie Miller and director Justin Martin, who previously collaborated on the hit 'Prima Facie.' Pike won the Best Actress award in the play category at the 2026 Olivier Awards for her role.
Beginning October 21, 'Mrs. Warren's Profession' will be shown, featuring Imelda Staunton and her real-life daughter Bessie Carter sharing the stage for the first time. Directed by Dominic Cook, this fresh interpretation of Bernard Shaw's classic allows audiences to experience the vibrant and dynamic performance from London's West End Garrick Theatre on the big screen.
