NH Venture Investment has established a private venture fund worth 100 billion won through contributions from affiliates of NH Nonghyup Financial Group.
The fund formation ceremony took place on November 6 at the company's headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul, with representatives from NH Nonghyup Financial Group and its affiliated companies in attendance, NH Venture Investment announced on November 8.
This fund is a follow-up to the memorandum of understanding signed by the government and five major financial groups aimed at promoting venture investment, supporting entrepreneurship, and transforming productive finance. It is designed to expand private venture investments and provide growth capital for advanced industries.
Affiliates such as NH Nonghyup Bank and NH Investment & Securities participated as investors in the fund. NH Venture Investment will oversee the fund's operations as the general partner, including selecting fund managers and managing contributions.
More than 60% of the total fund, at least 60 billion won, is planned to be invested in funds created by external managers. The investment targets will include blind funds selected by major policy investment institutions such as Korea Venture Investment, Korea Development Bank, and Korea Growth Investment Corporation.
Fund managers will be selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of their investment performance, key personnel, investment strategies, and financial soundness. Notably, managers who propose synergy cooperation plans with NH Financial Group will receive preferential treatment during the selection process.
Kim Hyun-jin, CEO of NH Venture Investment, stated, "This master fund serves as a foundation for connecting the funds of our group affiliates to the growth capital of venture companies. We will collaborate with specialized managers and link with policy funds to expand investments in advanced industries."
Meanwhile, NH Venture Investment has recently been selected as the entrusted manager for Korea Growth Investment's 'Technology Innovation Specialized Fund No. 7 (5 Regions 3 Special Local Industry Vitalization Fund).' Through this, it aims to establish a fund of at least 25 billion won to invest in regional technology companies.
