Celebrities’ East Coast Homes May Get Damaged By Hurricane Sandy

The rich and famous buy beach houses in the Hamptons to escape to in the dog days of New York summers.
But where do the homes escape to when nasty weather invades in October?

Many fancy piles of oceanfront bricks on the eastern tip of Long Island are at risk as Sandy, which was first called a hurricane but has since been classified as a post tropical cyclone, blows in from the east.

While folks like Jerry Seinfeld, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, Martha Stewart and Paul McCartney are presumably tucked away elsewhere as the worst of the storm approaches, their Hamptons homes are in prime position to be pounded by wind and rain as Sandy makes landfall.

We're also going to assume that sandbags have been stacked, plywood has been hammered into place and other appropriate precautions have been taken—but take a look at the at-risk real estate that one would call paradise on any other day.
